REVIEW: WEEK 2 OF 8 WEEK WEIGHT-LOSS PROGRAMME

This is the second week of my weight-loss programme and I am loving it!  Last week I had the Grace-To-Go so didn’t have to focus too much on food I was eating. But this week I am on my own and will be following Gabriela’s advice to eat more at home so I can control what I eat.  Using my Nutribullet I am whizzing up a lovely Avocado smoothie for a couple of breakfasts and sugar free muesli for another topped with loads of seeds and coconut yogurt. I have also bought a spiraliser and tried Jade’s recipe for courgetti with homemade kale pesto and sundried tomatoes – absolutely delicious!   I’m not feeling remotely hungry with the two snacks Gabriela  has given me to eat every day (especially keen on the four squares of dark chocolate) and sleeping much better now that I have cut my drinking down to a respectable 3 – 5 drinks a week (mostly vodka, lime sodas).

This week I meet up with Dr Amy and we are going to have a little chat about my state of health. She takes my blood pressure – which is normal (although I do take a blood pressure tablet every day which seems to work) and apart from the headaches I had which seem to have miraculously disappeared by keeping hydrated and not drinking after exercise all seems well. My next session is colonic hydrotherapy with Kara Mia. I have actually had this treatment before so do know what to expect.  Kara is really lovely and we have such a nice chat I hardly notice the time. She did advise that I should be taking a vitamin B tablet every day – so need to add that to the list!  I come out feeling very light and my stomach definitely feels a bit flatter although Kara tells me that once I have have had my other two sessions I will really notice a difference!

I had a lovely yoga session at Grace on Wednesday (I am trying to exercise three to five times a week) and Thursday morning it’s the big weigh in which is the two week point. As Danny is away this week I meet up with Emma – another personal trainer at the gym and equally lovely.  I am two kilos down! Very exciting. Then I discover that my fat has also gone down five points which is brilliant, plus I am not so dehydrated (not sure how they can tell this?) but it all sounds very encouraging.  Emma gives me a high five and we progress with our gym session. This time she has me waving ropes again as well as pushing a table across the floor with two weights on this time! This is a bit easier than last week though.  Another evil exercise is reaching out with my hands across the floor as far as possible and then walking them back.  It’s a killer! I love Emma’s brightly coloured Nike trainers and decide I am going to invest in the lovely bright pair too – got to look the part! I finish the session thrilled with my weight loss and walking on air!  This is hard work and involves commitment but I think it’s worth it.
