PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE AND AGEING WELL

GUT AND DIGESTIVE HEALTH

We are only just beginning to understand the role gut health plays in overall health and wellbeing.

Poor gut health can contribute to a range of diseases including IBS, obesity, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome and there are even links to mental health. Problems can manifest themselves in many different ways; from bloating, to difficulty passing faecal matter, bad breath, lack of energy, headaches and insomnia.

Maintaining gut flora and a healthy gut wall are fundamental to good gut health and as each individual body responds very differently to foods, environment and lifestyle stimulus it’s important to seek expert advice.

Nutritionists can provide tailored guidance and recommend food and lifestyle choices to aid better gut health, while a good detox programme will encompass a variety of food, exercise and treatments such as colonic hydrotherapy or abdominal massage to help promote good gut health.
