ALLERGIES AND INTOLERANCES

The food we eat, products we use on our skin and in day to day life have evolved tremendously and allergies and intolerances are becoming increasingly common.

Sometimes it is not immediately obvious what symptoms are caused by and these can manifest in a number of ways; rashes, dry skin, bloating, IBS, swelling or flu like symptoms are all relatively common. Allergies and intolerances to foodstuffs such as wheat, gluten, dairy and lactose are particularly prevalent and we offer a variety of tests at Grace Belgravia, most of which are conducted by our team of expert nutritionists and doctors.

Dr Shideh Pouria offers a unique approach via functional medicine, identifying root causes of problems and providing comprehensive dietary advice and recommendations. Nutritionists will also be able to interpret tests to provide informed, personal guidance.

    GABRIELA PEACOCK

    BSC HONS

Gabriela Peacock has a BSc Hons in Health Science (Nutritional Therapy) from the University of Westminster and Nutritional Therapy Diploma from The College of Naturopathic Medicine, London. A background in fashion modelling enlightened her to the importance of a nutritious diet and its impact on maintaining a positive, youthful body image.

Through the application of Nutritional Science, Gabriela looks to identify biochemical imbalances which may prevent optimal health. Guidance is tailored to complement medical treatment and promote health through the provision of nutrient rich food choices and supplement protocols.

Gabriela’s approach is patient-centred and evidence-based; she recognises that each person is an individual, with unique requirements and differing health goals. Patients can expect tailor-made support based on comprehensive health screens, dietary assessment, laboratory testing and on-going nutritional management.

One of Gabriela’s areas of expertise is healthy weight management  and her clients have achieved outstanding results through her unique application of Metabolic Balance.

    Jackie McCusker

    BSc (Hons), BANT, CNHC, NTCC

Jackie graduated from the University of Westminster in 2003 with a 1st class BSc (Hons) degree in Nutritional Therapy, and has since worked as a nutritional practitioner in both private and GP practices, as well as in a consultative capacity within the wellness and beauty industry. She has been featured in a number of articles on nutrition published in the press including The Daily Mail and Tatler Magazine Spa Guide. Jackie also works in education and is a clinic tutor at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition.

Jackie’s interest in nutrition was sparked by her own personal health crisis that was in part the result of some poor dietary and lifestyle choices. This forced her to re-evaluate her life and fulled her interest in nutrition and well-being. Having made some changes to her diet, Jackie saw first hand the fundamental effect the food she was eating was having on her health and energy levels.

Jackie practices from a Functional Medicine Model “an individualised, patient-centered, science-based approach that empowers patients and practitioners to work together to address the underlying causes of ill-health and promote optimal wellness”. Her aim is to provide each individual with the necessary information and tools to enable them to achieve positive lifestyle changes that improve their quality of life. She has a specialist interest in female hormones and fertility.
