PSYCHOTHERAPY

Psychotherapy is used to treat emotional problems and mental health conditions. It provides an opportunity to analyse problems and worries, deal with troublesome habits and a wide range of mental disorders including anxiety and depression.

Psychotherapists are specifically trained to listen to problems and help develop solutions and strategies by talking through causes and experiences that may have led to the current mental state. You will discuss the feelings you have about yourself and others, explore relationships, lifestyle and choices identifying areas where you can alter your perspective and behaviour.

People with significant emotional problems can benefit from psychotherapy, as well as those dealing with stress, bereavement, eating disorders, divorce, redundancy, or relationship problems.

    Lucy Beresford

    LUCY BERESFORD

    UKCP, MA, BA (HONS)

Lucy Beresford is a psychodynamic psychotherapist, working sensitively and without judgement with a range of clients, all grappling with some aspect of their life.

This could be anxiety, body image issues, coping with fame or being in the public eye, depression, eating disorders, relationship issues, writer’s or artist’s block, or a more general query about life – is this all there is? Or, why am I not yet where I thought I’d be?

Lucy tailors treatments to help clients make healthier choices and manifest the life they want. Her work is informed by a passion for story-telling and giving people the chance  (perhaps for the first time in their life) to feel heard. She hosts a weekly ‘Agony Aunt’ phone-show on LBC answering callers’ sex and relationship worries and is the author of 3 published novels and of the self-help book ‘Happy Relationships: at home, work and play’.
