Kick start your 2017 intentions

Grace Nutritionist Jade Barkett provides Grace members with one to one advice and guidance, helping them break bad eating habits and understand how best to maintain a healthy dietary balance. Here she shares advice on setting goals for 2017 and most importantly – getting results.

The New Year is the perfect time to evaluate aspects of our lives, identifying where we are out of balance and therefore where we need to shift our attention. To achieve this I recommend you create a 2017 “Intentions” list, ensuring less pressure but more commitment. Let’s face it resolutions are often long forgotten by February!

Has the festive period left you feeling tired, fatigued and lacking in energy? Has your fitness regime lapsed? Are you struggling to get back on track with your healthy eating habits? Or perhaps you’re looking for a complete health transformation?

Kick start a healthier 2017 with these tips:

  1. Start each day with a fresh ginger, lemon and turmeric shot for a powerful anti-inflammatory start to your day. Nutrition is key and fundamental to your lifestyle change and choosing a meal plan that is balanced and carefully devised will help get you started and ensure a sustainable change.
  1. Introduce a ‘10 day challenge’ that focuses on 1 positive change to initiate new healthy habits. Be accountable to a friend or partner and take advantage of our support to ensure you stay on track.
  1. During these winter months topping up on your Vitamin D is essential. Include more eggs, oily fish and dairy foods or consider a Vitamin D supplement. Vitamin D is important for your immune health and our bodies need the equivalent to at least 15 minutes of sunshine a day.
